Something special is coming to Brookhaven this fall! On Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Blackburn Park will become a gathering place for books, culture, creativity, entrepreneurship, and community during the Juanderful Book & Culture Experience.
This is more than a book festival!
It is an opportunity for people to come together, discover new authors, support businesses, meet entrepreneurs, celebrate creativity, and enjoy a day centered around connection.
A Celebration of Books — But Not Just for Book Lovers
Books are at the heart of the Juanderful Book & Culture Experience, but the vision goes far beyond selling books. Stories have the power to teach us, challenge us, encourage us, and help us understand experiences outside of our own. That is why this event was created to give authors and readers an opportunity to meet one another face-to-face.
Guests will have the opportunity to discover authors they may have never encountered online, hear the stories behind the books, purchase signed copies, and introduce children and young adults to the excitement of meeting real writers.
For independent authors in particular, events like this matter.
Many talented writers do not have the promotional budgets or national platforms of major publishing houses. A community event gives those authors something extremely valuable: visibility, conversation, and direct connection with readers.
Culture Is Part of the Story
The word culture in the Juanderful Book & Culture Experience is intentional. Our communities are filled with people from different backgrounds, professions, generations, and life experiences. The festival creates a space where those differences can be represented and celebrated. We want guests to walk through Blackburn Park and experience a variety of voices, businesses, authors, products, services, and ideas.
You may arrive because you love books and discover a new small business.
You may come to support a vendor and leave with a signed book.
You may meet an entrepreneur whose story inspires your next idea.
Or you may simply spend the day meeting people you would not have met anywhere else.
That is what community events are supposed to do.

Supporting Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs
One of the major goals of the Juanderful Book & Culture Experience is to create opportunities for small businesses. Our vendor marketplace is designed to include both product-based and service-based businesses. That means you may find businesses selling beautiful products alongside consultants, professionals, authors, coaches, organizations, online brands, and entrepreneurs introducing services that guests can explore after the festival. A successful vendor experience does not always begin and end with what is purchased at the table that day.
Sometimes success is a new customer.
Sometimes it is a new email subscriber.
Sometimes it is a booking.
Sometimes it is a business relationship.
And sometimes it is simply having hundreds of people learn that your company exists.
We want participating businesses to think beyond the booth and use the festival as an opportunity to build relationships that continue long after September 26.
A Family-Friendly Community Experience
The Juanderful Book & Culture Experience is being designed as an event where families, adults, readers, entrepreneurs, and community members can spend the day together. And where better to do that than Blackburn Park in Brookhaven, Georgia? With an outdoor community setting, the festival offers an opportunity to enjoy the park while exploring books, businesses, activities, and cultural experiences throughout the day.
Bring your family.
Bring your friends.
Bring another book lover.
Bring someone who says they are not a book lover — we may change their mind!
Meet Featured Author Malaika Torry
We are also excited to welcome Malaika Torry as a featured author and speaker for the Juanderful Book & Culture Experience. Featured authors are an important part of our vision because we want attendees to do more than simply see books displayed on tables. We want them to hear from the people who wrote them.
Behind every book is a person.
Behind that person is usually a story.
And sometimes the story behind the book is just as powerful as the book itself.
Why Brookhaven?
Brookhaven is a growing and diverse community located in the heart of metro Atlanta, making it an ideal location for an event centered around connection. The Juanderful Book & Culture Experience is an invitation to residents of Brookhaven, Buckhead, Decatur, Atlanta, surrounding communities — and visitors from beyond metro Atlanta — to spend the day supporting authors, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
Our hope is that this becomes more than an event people attend once. We want to build an experience people look forward to coming back to.

Calling Authors, Businesses, and Organizations
Vendor opportunities are still available for businesses and organizations that believe they would be a good fit for the experience. And you do not have to operate a traditional retail business to participate.
We welcome applications from:
Authors and publishers
Retail businesses
Service-based businesses
Consultants and professionals
Coaches
Online businesses
Community organizations
Nonprofits
Creative entrepreneurs
Educational businesses
Family-focused brands
Food and specialty vendors that meet event requirements
Our goal is not simply to fill spaces. We are intentionally building a curated marketplace that gives attendees an interesting variety of businesses and experiences to explore. Vendor applications are available through the official event website, and there is no cost to apply.
