Brookhaven Welcomes the Juanderful Book & Culture Experience: A Celebration of the Cultures That Make Our Community Whole

Something special is coming to Brookhaven this fall! On Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Blackburn Park will become a living, breathing showcase of culture during the Juanderful Book & Culture Experience.


This is more than a festival — it's a celebration of who we are.


Brookhaven and the surrounding metro Atlanta communities are home to an extraordinary mix of backgrounds, traditions, languages, generations, and lived experiences. The Juanderful Book & Culture Experience was created to give that diversity a place to be seen, shared, and celebrated — together, in one park, on one day.


Culture Is the Heart of the Day

When we say "culture," we mean it in the fullest sense: the food people grew up eating, the music that moves them, the traditions passed down through families, the art that tells a community's story, and the everyday wisdom shared between generations. Culture is not a single booth or a single hour of programming — it is woven through every part of the day.


Guests can expect to encounter:


  • Cultural performances and music that reflect the rhythms and traditions of different communities

The Juanderful Book & Culture Experience gives those voices a marketplace and a microphone. Vendors are not simply selling products; many are sharing a piece of where they come from, whether through food, fashion, art, books, or services rooted in tradition.

Supporting a vendor at this festival is supporting more than a business — it's supporting the continuation of a culture and a story.

The festival is being designed as a day where families, elders, young people, and neighbors of every background can spend time together outdoors at Blackburn Park in Brookhaven, Georgia. Culture is best experienced together — across generations and across differences — and the park setting gives guests room to explore, sit, eat, and simply be part of the day.

Brookhaven sits in the heart of metro Atlanta and is home to residents from a remarkable range of cultural backgrounds. That makes it the natural home for an event built around cultural celebration and connection. The Juanderful Book & Culture Experience is an invitation to residents of Brookhaven, Buckhead, Decatur, Atlanta, and beyond to spend a day learning from — and celebrating with — cultures other than, and including, their own.


Our hope is that this becomes a tradition of its own: an event the community looks forward to year after year.

Calling Cultural Organizations, Authors, and Businesses

Vendor opportunities are still open for authors, artists, performers, cultural organizations, and businesses that want to share their culture with the community. You do not need to run a traditional retail business to take part.


We welcome:

  • Cultural and heritage organizations

  • Performers and musicians

  • Artists and craftspeople

  • Food and specialty vendors that meet event requirements

  • Community and nonprofit organizations

  • Family-focused and educational brands

We are intentionally building a curated cultural marketplace, not just filling tables. Vendor applications are available through the official event website, and there is no cost to apply.
